Well the Tatting Workshop at Hector this past Saturday, went well. There was many tatters in attendance; Kay, Sheila, Makilha, Ginny, Misty, Kathy, Sally, Karey and I. What a blast we had!! Karey had us doing emblishments for a tatted bear, so we made a belt in block tatting, pocket and basket for the teddy bear. Now mind you I did not make a belt, I made a necklace instead, used the same pattern. I found that a necklace looked better on the pink bear. We used blocked tatting and beads for the belt/necklace. We used hemp to tat the basket, and boy was that a challenge!! I broke a crochet hook and the point on the shuttle.... a bit tricky for sure. Not sure I would tat with it again, however it was an experience. I did not make the pocket, again I like to experiment and try different things.... take a look at the picture of pink bear with tatted accessories... let me know what you think?
Karey sells tatting threads, supplies and other needlework supplies in her shop. So I could not resist the new Lacis shuttle. So the picture above is of this shuttle. I also purchased some fall threads( should I dare say fall??) to use for tatting pumpkins, leaves, etc. I love fall, it is such a wonderful time of the year!!
