My latest tatting creations.....

Well I have been busy tatting for Hector 2009 and doing some personal tatting. I am working on a pink doily for my front room. The pattern is from Old Time Crochet Magazine, Summer 2002 issue, volume 24, number 2 pages 30 & 32 if you want to make it. The pattern was designed by Hartmut Hass and and is called Loop-di-Loop Tatted Doily. Now Hartmut did not have beads in the pattern, so I took it upon myself to add them, as I enjoy working with beads and I think it dresses up the tatting. The skill level is intermediate, however I think anyone can do this. Below is a picture of the doily. I have one more round to finish before it is done and if I am able tonight and my bag of time does not run out.. I will string the beads for the next round and get my thread on the shuttles.

I am going to upload a close up of the first round with the beads, so you can see it better. Do let me know what you think of this doily!

In addition to this tatting I have been tatting for Hector 2009, I am working on tea pots for the competition. I will upload the pictures of the tea coasters I have been working on. I made a couple of small motifs and my DH attached them to the coaster with epoxy. Let me know what you think, as this is our first try with the epoxy over the coaster to keep the tatting secured and safe. Also I have another tea pot I am working on that will be attached to a Irish linen doily, which I will bring to Hector for the display table.

Finally I went to Letchworth State Park today with my DH and went hiking, sight-seeing, along with taking numerous photos. It was a lovely day.. even with the few rain drops we encountered. I am going to upload a picture of myself sitting on a stone walkway that leads up to the look out area. A small set of waterfalls are below me. It was such an amazing park to go thru!! Much fun was had!! Hope you enjoy! ~ Tanya

Hi Tanya, Your doily is very pretty, I like this design. Great job too on the tatted coaster with the epoxy on them. I never thought about doing something like that. Something new to try!! Happy Tatting!
