Here is the finished pink doily that I have been working on. I finished it early Sunday morning and was pretty happy with how it turned out. It really was a pleasure tatting it. Now onto that baby cap, I found a nice pattern and some varigated green and blue thread to use. This is a picture of my first split ring tatting. It certainly could be better and I believe over the years I have done better with this technique. This was tatted over 8 years ago. I did enjoy the pattern and I believe it came from the Ring of Tatters in the UK.
Here is a picture of a doily I bought when I was in Florida visiting my father. He took me to some nice antique stores as he knows I love antiques and needlecrafts. So this is what I found...
The next photo is of a remake of the florida doily. I used varigated thread size 40, and beads to embelish it... what do you think?

You all are making my fingers itching to start on a tatted doily. Anyway, promised myself no tatting until master's project complete; supplied myself with large shuttles, plenty of HDTs, and Iris' Tatted Doilies.
Well done, Tanya! Lots of lovely tatting.
Lovely pieces Tanya and I especially like the "re-make" with the beads.
What a pretty split ring pattern. The doily looks nice, too! Great job!
