I have not been tatting lately with all the work of getting the house settled, decorated for Christmas, and working full-time. Life has been busy. I did get my Christmas cards sent this week, yippee! I am so excited that they are done. We are slowly recieving cards and I do love getting them. The house is fully decorated for the holidays and I am so thrilled that it is coming together. In the month that we have been in our new home, I have the downstairs all unpacked and the rooms set up. This weekend, I will work on the upstairs rooms. We have most of the basement settled also, however tonight we are under water in our basement. It has rained here since last night and it is coming down very hard, with no end in sight. My husband said we need a sump pump, as he was trying to clean up the water that is leaking into our basement. I guess we will have to invest in one soon! I am going to upload some pictures of our Christmas trees, stockings, and my snowman collection. See below..........
This is our artifical tree in our living room. I could not find our angel, so I used a gold bow. I think it looks good. It is so much fun decorating for the holidays, listening to the Christmas music, and eating cut out cookies..
This picture is of our little tree in our den. It also is an artifical tree. It has old family ornaments from the 1940's and 1950's, the ones everyone is paying big money for.. and I have my family's stash that I use every year on this tree.
These are my snowman that I have been collecting over the years. I believe it all started when my brother's old girlfriend gave me a snowman for Christmas. I just loved it and from them on, I have collected them and have recieved them as gifts. I do miss Megan, my brother's former girlfriend, she was a sweetheart!!
You can see our fireplace in our living room, how blessed we are to have this lovely fireplace. It was redone prior to the sale of our home, so we were very lucky in getting this addition to the house. At some point in near future we will have a fireplace insert, which will heat our home. We really need it, as natural gas is getting costly to heat our whole home.
Finally this is a picture of our stockings hung from the fireplace with care, oh wait a minute..... I mean from the staircasse with care. I love putting garland on the staircase and I thought this year I would put our stockings there too. Now you can see the first one on the left is my husband's as his name is on it. Then my stocking is next, and finally we have an additional stocking, that I just decided to hang( as it looked good). So that is our holiday showcase... I hope you have enjoyed seeing our displays.I should be looking for Christmas tatting patterns to start.. maybe this weekend... I have so much planned for the weekend.. you know how it is!!
Good night Tattingland....

Look forward to the finished piece. I hope you display the bonnet on a hat form or something...maybe a cute little baby's head! So we can see the lace better! It looks to pretty to miss out on all the detail. Your trees look fun...it looks like you are all ready for Christmas! How fun!
