On to other news..what have I been up too lately? Well let's see.. cooking, baking, sewing, reading, tatting, and walking. The fall weather is great for walks.. I really love walking and just taking in the scenary as I go. I did make a pot holder cover for this ugly pot holder I had, it was lime green, what was I thinking when I bought it?? I guess I wasn't it. So I took some nice country fabric and make a slip cover for it and now the pot holder is new and improved. I have been refurshing some old pieces of furniture.. I will upload a few pics.. hang on...

The first picture is of the whole table( of course). I purchased it from an antique store years ago and I had a plant on it and it got severe water damage. So I decided to paint the top with an country scene and then refinish the rest of the table. What do you think? And to think my hubby was going to throw it away?
Next is the Singer sewing machine base I refinished. It was in my mom's family for years and was actually my great, great grandmother's. When I got it, it was not in good shape, and I just never got around to fixing it, so with all the time off I have had.. I worked on it. See the photos below.. again let me know what you think??

The pictures on the left is the back side of the base and the picture on the right is the front. I am going to try to find a nob for the drawer as it was missing when I got it. If you look closely you will see the hole where the nob is supposed to be. I am really happy I have had this time off to do things and I am grateful to my husband for letting me stay home until I found a job! Well I guess the lady of leisure is coming to an end as I start work next Monday and I will be busy again!!
Now for tatting.. I am going to upload the pattern for the baby bonnett and book it came from along with the start of the bonnett. Here it is..... drum roll....

So the first picture on the left is my start of the baby bonnett pattern. I am using a varigated greens and blues and then a varigated whites, light blues and greens. I do not think the picture does it justice, sorry. It is Altin Baskin thread I am using. Then you can see the patternbook I am getting this pattern from on the top right and the bottom left is the actual baby bonnett pattern. What do you think?? Do let me know...

Love the colors you are tatting with. It looks like you came up with a do-able solution to the water damaged table. Your antique Singer is so nice! You're so fortunate to have such a lovely piece.
